FORMAT & RULES----

 

Dates-May 1- September 30

Entry fee-$3500

-Teams choose any 3 calendar days each month to score release points.

-1 winner each month.

-1 overall winner.

 

RELEASE PAYOUT-

-Overall season winner - 50% of Pot

-1 winner each month - 10% (of pot each month.)

**Example - 200k cash in release pot

-May winner -$20,000

-June winner -$20,000

-July winner -$20,000

-August winner-$20,000

-September winner-$20,000

-Overall winner -$100,000

**POTS ARE EQUAL TO TOTAL ENTRY FEES LESS 15%

 

RELEASE POINTS -

-Blue Marlin -650

-White Marlin -200

-Spearfish -200

-Unidentified billfish -100

 

**Grand slam bonus! -

If a team releases a “Grand Slam “ 1- sail ,1- White ,1- Blue in a single day they receive 500 extra bonus points for that day.

 

 

  • Teams must declare each “RELEASE” Day prior to the day of fishing. (Using the MONGO app.)

  • Teams will then be given a “trip number” to be used as the video identifier.

  • Teams must show the MONGO video identifier number in the release video, along with the number of each particular release, using their fingers, or number written on paper. The video must be continuous, showing the fish identity, the release, and gps time and date, identifier number, and release number for each fish released.

  • Videos must be uploaded within 7 days through the MONGO APP or to “MONGO Dropbox account” link on website.

  • The team Captain must also score the trip on the MONGO APP after each trip and upload a photo of their flags on outriggers for each trip on the day of the trip on the MONGO app.

  • The Team will be given release score reference number receipt after uploading videos.

  • Videos will be reviewed by the MONGO video judges and scored accordingly, asap.

  • The team will then have 48 hrs. to “protest “points given by the video judge and request for a second review. After that time period the points given will be final.

  • Official releases will be accepted by other MONGO approved tournaments. MONGO will defer angling rules to each of those tournaments. Teams would not then need to send MONGO their videos but will need to score on the MONGO app for those days.

  • Refer to the MONGO Offshore Challenge rules page for all other angling rules.

 

***Monthly “winner” is the team with the most release points scored during their 3 declared fishing days each month.

 Season “winner” is the team with the most overall points of all of their 3 declared fishing days each month May 1 – Sept 30.

If a tie, then the team who scored their total points first wins/ release video gps times and dates will be source of who scored the points first.
